Development of a Targeted Therapy for Clear Cell Sarcoma Using a Second-Generation PRMT5 Inhibitor

Bingbing Li, M.D., Ph.D.,

Oregon Health and Science University

$50,000

Dr. Li will test a promising new targeted drug, BMS-986504, in a mouse model of clear cell sarcoma of soft tissue (CCSST), a rare and aggressive cancer that affects children and young adults. By treating tumors with this drug and comparing the results to untreated tumors, Dr. Li’s team will measure whether the therapy slows or stops tumor growth while also monitoring for side effects.

This study is an important step in determining whether BMS-986504 has the potential to become a new treatment for patients with clear cell sarcoma. If successful, the findings will provide critical preclinical evidence to support future studies and move this promising therapy closer to clinical trials for children and young adults facing this devastating disease.
